Laptop stand

I guess this fits under hardware as well as anywhere else. It's an entirely no-tech problem but one that an hour on Dell support didn't even begin to resolve.

As I spent an hour waiting for Dell support to try to understand my question I did figure out how to adjust the angle of my new laptop stand.
But, and this is really moronic and actually funny, I can't figure out to use the darn stand. No documentation came with it and I can't figure out if only the laptop screen is supposed to be put onto the stand or if the entire notebook should be placed on the stand. Either way, how do I do this?  (See, I told you it was really moronic. But this tends to be my problems with machines: I used to be able to work on my car pretty well except that sometimes I couldn't get the darn bolts loose! Now I can do all sorts of techie stuff on my nice laptop but I can't figure out the stand! I have a feeling one day I won't be able to function in society at all because of some moronic thing like this. Then I will stay home and laugh until . . . well you get the point of my ramblings.)

Any insights would be greatly appreciated -- especially if accompanied by terribly inappropriate and overkill graphics or documentation full really bureaucratic phrasing and the word "utilize" more times than one would think possible.

Thanks!

Are you attempting leverage and utilize an existing D/View stand? If So, you need a D/Port Advanced Port Replicator with it.
