Laptop working very slow

Question

I have dell inspiron 15R, 1TB HDD, i7 processor, windows 8.1. My C drive has 500GB(approx) memory out of which 200GB(approx) is free Service tag : <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy> It used to work fast but suddenly it became very slow. I tried restarting , it got shut down but was unable to start. So I ran diagnostic test which gave an error in hard disk with error code :2000-0142.  The next morning I ran the diagnostic test again and it ran successfully without any error. I formatted it from my recovery disk and it took me almost whole night as the formatting process was also very slow. My laptop still works very slow. It takes almost 15mins for start-up and my applications are also openning too slow, Please help

You need to replace the hard drive, which is failing.
