Latitude D610- Screen goes blank after WinXP loading screen

I'm having an issue with my Latitude D610 where after the Windows XP loading screen, the screen will go completely blank. No BSOD, no login screen, just a blank screen. This began happening at least a year ago, however I bought a new computer so this one fell to the wayside. I tried system restore when it first occurred to no avail. The computer does boot into Safe Mode. Any suggestions?

If it boots into safe mode then its almost certainly a driver issue and with the blank screen I'd suspect a display driver.

Does the system have an nVidia or Intel GPU?

Next step in the troubleshooting would be to see if you can see an image on an external monitor - if you can, you likely have a bad display panel.  If you cannot, it's likely a bad mainboard.

UPDATE:

Yesterday, I started the computer normally, and after roughly 40 minutes, the computer rebooted. Unfortunately, automatic restart was enabled so I have no BSOD to go off of. I'll try reinstalling the drivers.

I updated the driver and was successfully able to boot into Windows XP. I will update this if there are any more problems. Thank you guys for your time!
