Latitude E5470 with ScanDisk SSD freeze when using memory intensive application

Hi Dell support forum,

My Latitude freezes when I am using applications that require a lot of memory. The computer becomes unresponsive. Even after waiting for a long time it does not recover. The only option is to hard reset by holding the power button.

I have tried to update the power management (AHCI Link Power Management) of the ScanDisk SSD but this did not help. All drivers are also up to date.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Specification:

Intel Core i5-6300U CPU 2.4GHz

8GB RAM

64 bit operating system

Hard Disk: ScanDisk X400 M2 2280 25 SCSI

Thanks.

I'd suggest checking for a firmware update in the (ScanDisk) link below.

Also,

Run the Diagnostic tool to check the hardware on the system. Please follow steps below:

1. Power off system

2. Power on system, quickly tap the F12 key continuously until you see Preparing one time boot menu in the top right corner of the screen. In the boot menu, stroll down to Diagnostic and the click it. After quick tests, click on Hard drive and then Thorough Test Mode, run Memory as well.
