Latitude E6500 - Intel P8600 Windows 7, 32 OR 64 BIT ????
I own a Dell Latitude E6500 with Intel P8600 processor and current O.S. is VISTA BUSINESS. I want to upgrade to WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE (already purchased) but do I want to use the 32 BIT or the 64 BIT version ???? Thanks !!

I guess I'll install 32 BIT version of Windows 7 Ultimate as I haven't any 64 bit software nor do I have any 64 bit drivers on hand !! 64 BIT sounds like too much "trouble" for what I would "get out of it" as compared to just plain old 32 BIT. Thanks for the reply !!

You can use either - but before you install the 64-bit system, be sure your hardware (printers, camera, etc.) have 64-bit drivers. Quite a bit of hardware out there has no 64-bit support, and installing that OS without checking could lead to some nasty surprises when you find you need to replace older hardware.
Same goes for software - be sure you have 64-bit versions of your antivirus, etc., software - or you'll be in for some upgrade fees.
