Letters going all over keyboard when typing

I have Inspiron N5110 and wthen I type letters they do not go in correct order.

I will retype what i just did without going back to fix.nsiron N5110 and when I type letters they do not go in correct o

I am having to do 1 key stroke at a time and still have to igo back and fix sentence.  This happened last yr and  i did system restore and  worked after that.  I just took computer yesterday to repair shop and was chgd 165.00 . the prob was i cncould not get  power to turn on properly..it kept auto on and off. would not let me get in.  repair took everything off computer and reinstalled.  they told me to bring back to them but i am nott sure i trust them  Help!.

I went back to command prompt and it let me typ e normally.  but not here

I went to the command prompt and type a test sentence and  my screen jumped back to to this one, will go tohttp://dell.to/1hz2gt Wh  and see if i can figure it out...but letters were not typing correctly in order on prompt page.

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for the reach out.

Please check if the issue is repeated when you type in the command prompt window.

Open the Command Prompt window by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, and then clicking Command Prompt.

Hi Lisa,

Thank you for your reply.

Since you are able to type normally in the command prompt, could you try connecting an external keyboard and check if that works fine?

Please follow steps under "Troubleshooting a Keyboard or Touchpad Built Into the Notebook" in the link provided previously.
