M1210 Audio Crackling

I have a XPS  M1210 running xp Pro SP2.

Whenever i play anything with audio i get crackling in the sound.  This occurs with MP3, DVDs, Internet radio, video game etc.

It also occurs from the integrated speakers, headphone jack, and external USB speakers.

I have reinstalled all the audio drivers i could find from the dell and its still happening.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I have had my m1210 for just over two weeks, and the experience with the audio is making me seriously considering a refund. I've had crackly audio no matter what I do, I've been following this thread extremely closely (http://www.dellcommunity.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=insp_audio&thread.id=32785&view=by_date_ascending&page=1) and some of the suggestions have slightly reduced my anguish. However, it is still extremely annoying particularly when I'm trying to watch a video on the computer. I am using the audio through the integrated speakers. I've installed all of the latest drivers, upgraded my system bios, and spent many hours attempting to fix this problem. Jimmy, could you please help me and the other m1210 owners out? It really upsets me to purchase what is considered a high end laptop and ending up with a problem I really shouldn't be seeing for how much I paid.
