M4700 memory issue
Hello, I'm having an issue with my newish Dell M4700. It came with one chip of 2GB, which I swapped for a matched set of two Apacer 2GB into the primary slots and everything worked fine. My order of four matched 4GB modules arrived, so I installed all four. The system turns on, the HDD activity indicator flashes for a second, and then nothing. No Dell logo or boot options. So, here is what I've tried:
Primary: 2x4GB
Secondary: empty
Works fine
Primary: empty
Secondary: 2x4GB
Works fine
Primary: 2 Apacer sticks
Secondary: 2x4GB
Doesn't boot
Primary: 2x4GB
Secondary: 2x4GB
Doesn't boot
I've updated the BIOS, loaded setup defaults, and a few other things, but to no avail.
My memory:
4x4GB G.Skill F3-10600CL9D-8GBSQ
2x2GB Apacer PC3-10600 CL9
Any ideas? Maybe I'm missing something easy...

Hi Zxkuqyb,
I would like you to run the hardware diagnostics on the memories installed on the system. Please install the 4x4GB memory on the system and press and hold down ‘Fn’ button and press ‘Power button’ to run the diagnostics.
Please let us know the finding.

Unfortunately, I tried holding down the Fn key & power, but it's the same as before: it comes on, but there's nothing on the screen.
There are two small additional things I noticed, though. First, when I power down and remove the two primary memory sticks and power back on, I get a message saying the memory changed. So, on some level it is taking note of going from 2 sticks to 4. Also, when I press the power button to reset it with 4 sticks installed, it doesn't instantly turn off like usual. The fans spin up for a moment and then it turns off after a few seconds.
Thanks for any help.

Hi Zxkuqyb,
I would like you to run the hardware diagnostics with Primary: 2x4GB and Secondary: empty once. Also, Primary: empty and Secondary: 2x4GB and let us know the results.
