Please share the model number of the laptop. Is it N4010 or N4110? Please update the video drivers from this link: http://dell.to/XvD8Hu. Once you click the laptop model, select 'Video' and install the driver depending upon the video card. Also, click Start button, type power options in the search box and press Enter. In the power plan, do you see the 'Adjust plan brightness' option?
If this options appears, try to decrease or increase the brightness and check if the brightness changes. Moreover, turn off the computer. Restart it and press F2 key as soon as the Dell Splash screen appear. Navigate to 'Advanced' tab using the right arrow key. What option is selected in BIOS for 'Function Key Behavior'?
If 'Function Key First' is selected, change it to 'Multimedia Key First' and press F10 to save and exit BIOS. When the system boots to windows, use F4 and F5 keys to change brightness.
Thanks for your immediate response. I had solved the problem my self after installing the video drivers downloaded from internet.
But i fell that drivers you had given me along with the INSPIRON 14R laptop is worthless. Service tag no: Service tag removed per privacy policy>.
Why i say is... recently i had faced wireless network problem. After the telecon had with your representative found that wireless driver was not loaded in my CD given to me., Then i had downloaded from internet.
I expect a fresh driver CD which contain all the drivers.
I am sorry to hear that the drivers provided did not work. When the Drivers DVD was created for this system, it had the latest drivers. However, with time, the drivers are updated regularly and the updated versions are uploaded on the support website. For instance, the latest BIOS versions are released and uploaded.
