Memory Key

Does anyone know if there is a driver out there that will allow a Dell 128 MB USB Memory Key to work with Windows 98? Dell's driver is only for XP and 2000.

Thanks,

I have the same problem with my new 128 Mb Dell Memory key to use it with my old W98 PC.

I found that this key is a SMART SM9FLAMK one, and after having tried without any success the drivers found on

www.memorykeytools.com and www.diskonkey.com , I found via Google the SMART site and an address where I could find THE driver:

www.usbdrivetools.com/win98.asp

Unfortunately, this driver doesn't work either... Does somebody know if this is due to a USB 2.0 problem, not recognised by Win98? I would appreciate any help. I am sure that I am not alone...

anybody know if there is a way to get the memory key to work on a iMac.

I just got the new Inspiron 6000 wth a 256mb memory key hoping to be able to take files from that and use it on my iMac that I have to use at work. It says it should be compatible with Macs but when I plug it in it does not recognize it.

Any ideas?

I, too, have a Dell 128MB USB Key (SMART SM9FLAMK) and have been hopelessly unsuccessful trying to find a driver to make it work with my old Windows 98 machine.  Anyone have any ideas?

DELL (France) is unable to provide me with any help, and I didn't reveive any answer to my mails to SMART.

If someone overseas is lucky enough to get the right info, I'll be happy!

All,

The memory key you are referring to ONLY works with Win XP.

Bay Wolf has the Dell USB Memory Key utility on this page.

Here is its descriptrion as listed on the page:

The Dell USB Memory Key can be made bootable as if it were a hard disk drive under most operating systems.

The Dell Resource CD that ships with Dell PC will have a Windows Utility that can be used to make the Memory Key bootable. The utility can be used to format the Memory Key, add an active partition, and transfer basic MS-DOS system files to the Memory Key.

I don't only if it is XP only or not. It makes a bootable memory stick the boots to DOS.

So, if you have to go to an XP machine to format the memory stick then it will be a one-time process.
