Mic auto Mutes

Question

Hi all,

I have a remote user with a new Latitude 7370. They complain that their microphone auto mutes when on Skype or GoToMeeting calls. It's annoyance since they go to speak and the microphone is muted. They are using a Logitech USB Mic most of the time but they reported is happens with the built-in Mic as well. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Just as a follow-up.  it turns out this was Malware causing the problem.  the machine had Symantec Endpoint but that scanned cleaned.  I downloaded Malwarebytes which discovered and removed the virus.  The Mic is working fine now.  -Bob

Hello Bob. Have they tried to change the settings (Skype>Tools>Options>Audio Settings). It might help to uncheck the mic auto-adjustment.

Thanks Jim,  she said she tried that.  I was going to open a ticket with Dell but this sounds like a software issue to me.  Thanks
