Missing Base System Device Driver
Hi just reloaded WIN 7 on my XPS 1645. The device manger shows 2 missing base system devices with the following error message.
The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
For:
1. PCI bus 9, device 0, function 1
2. PCI bus 9, device 0, function 2
Seen some responses on other simular post with links for downloads. However the links indicate the details not available.
Can anyone point me right the direction?
Thanks
Dave

You need to install the Chipset Drivers probably one of the mssing devices is the card reader.
The drivers are here: http://ftp.dell.com/Browse_For_Drivers/Laptops/Studio%20XPS/Studio%20XPS%201645/
See my wiki A Clean Install of Windows for full details. In particular Step 5b and 5c for driver instalaltion.
Start with Dell System Software http://ftp.dell.com/utility/DELL_SYSTEM-SOFTWARE_A01_R260746.exe
Intel Chipset http://ftp.dell.com/chipset/R228043.exe
Ricoh Card Reader http://ftp.dell.com/chipset/R234107.exe
You will need to install the rest after that. Also install Service Pack 1 if its not on your instalaltion DVD before any of the drivers.
