Mouse click randomly messes up until reboot.
The cursor on my computer will work for a random amount of time and then it will mes up.
- Either the cursor will respond in pulling the taskbar up from hidden mode and the start button will be the only thing that even acts like the cursor is there, and I have to use the touch screen to do anything.
- Or nothing will respond at all, and when I use the touch screen it will activate a window and immediatly deactivate it.
The only thing that acts normal in the first case is any website in Google Chrome will work but the bar at the top acts as though I am using middle mouse clicks. And I can never keep the window active long enough to try this in the second case.
This happens both with the touchpad and USB mouses.
Thank you to anyone that can help, because this has been aggravating me for months.

Thank you for your message.
Did this start after any Windows update or software changes like game/ application installation?
Run a hardware diagnostic by following this link bit.ly/2fJuGXB & check if there is any error listed.
Run a custom test on the touchpad by following these steps
1) Press at the welcome screen for the boot menu
2) At the One Time Boot menu, press the arrow key to highlight Diagnostics, then press to begin ePSA.
3) Choose no for memory test and then choose system test
4) Now click on custom test and highlight Touchpad/ input devices and click run test
Manually disable touchpad & connect the USB mouse on different ports to check if the issue persists.
For my reference, click on my Dell username & send a private message with the service tag, registered name & email address.
