Mouse has disappeared entirely
I've completed testing diagnostics as much as possible, considering I do not have the mouse to move to all the testing components etc, I've rebooted, shutdown yadda yadda yadda...no pointer anywhere??????????????....( What can I do to use the laptop without the pointer at all?

What you will need is a external mouse such as a USB or serial. After shut down plug mouse in and then boot up. Let windows config new pointing devise. If you have USB mouse do not load software that came with mouse at this time since from what I have read some USB operating drivers override the touchpad driver causing conflict. You should now have a pointing device functional allowing you to go into hardware manager found in my computers properties under hardware.
Read some of the fixes that this board recommends. From the newest page back four pages there are at least three fixes. The one I posted has worked for me twice. I would like to find the cause of this problem since my computer has been living side by side with touchpad and USB for six months and now my problem has just started.
