My New Dell Laptop 15R 5520 suddenly shutdowns after 10 minutes

Hi,

I bought a New Dell Inspiron 15R 5520 Series laptop in august 2013. Now i'm facing a problem of suddenly shutdown after booting the system (approximate 10-15 min). While I connect to Power plug, it works normally without shutdown. I just use a laptop for my Education purpose. My system configuration is listed below..

Dell 15R 5520

Processor : Intel Core  i5   3337U   1.80GHz

Ram           : 4GB Ram

64 Bit System

Hard disk   : 1TB HDD

Operating System : Windows 8 Single Language.

Please suggest me to recover from this problem...

Hi Aquib,

Please update the BIOS using the link below.

http://dell.to/1doOzZT

Connect the Ac Adapter before updating the BIOS and do not use the system until it restarts after the update.

In addition run the Dell PC diagnostics on battery using the link below.

In this link click on hardware >select battery and click on run diagnostics. Please let me know the time duration when the battery is draining out.

Hi Aquib,

Try releasing the static power and check if the system is working. Follow the steps below.

Switch off the system; remove the battery, ac adapter and the power cable. Press and hold down the power button for thirty seconds to drain any excess static power. Also shut down the computer and then run the hardware diagnostics, follow the steps below.

Press the Fn + power this will initiate the hardware diagnostics. Let us know if there is any error code listed.
