N7010 power button not working
My 17R N7010 will not start up, and on dismantling it is the power button not working. If I press the actual switch on the power board with my finger it runs, but the white plastic button mounted on the wrist rest dies nit contact it. Is there a way of seeing an illustration of the plastic button so I can see what it shoukd look like? I think I will need a new wrist rest board, as the button is heat-rivetted in place?

Hi, Petercourtney,
Thanks for writing to us.
The power button is a part of the palmrest. Do PM us the system tag# by clicking on my name in blue and then select send a private message .
Will provide you the part# for palmrest , should you want.
Regards
PeterCourtney

I have sent the number, but thought it worth sharing the "quick fix" that I have done. After dismantling to the point if removing the palm rest I drilled a small hole exactly above the switch on the power board. Following reassembly I can now press the start button with a plastic toothpick...Bingo, it starts!
