N7110 RAM issue

Dear Dell community!

I need your help. I haven a N7110 with a weird problem. I bought this laptop with 2x4GB RAM, there are 2 ram slots in the laptop. If i use more programs, the laptop gets blue screen/freeze or turns off.  My experiments shows me IF any ram ( i have 3 now, all good) used by the upper RAM SLOT the laptop get the "blue screen/freeze or turns off". If i only use the good, lower slot the laptop works fine. Can i fix the upper slot?

Thank you,

László Csonka

The only real repair to be done is a replacement of the system board.

Thank you for your message.

This seems to be an issue with the memory slot. Remove all the memory & & put one memory in the top slot & run a diagnostic by following this link & choose yes for memory test (this test takes about 30 minutes)

Check if the system is slow in safe mode with the memory in the top slot.

If the issue persists the motherboard has to be replaced. If the system is under warranty, we can replace parts as per warranty.
