Need Driver Disk Download
Ok guys, I am a newbie here, so please reply to this with simple-stupid info...
When I try to boot up my Inspiron 6000, My computer automatically goes to startup repair, followed by the dreaded "startup repair cannot repair this computer automatically" msg. I have tried going into the advanced options for recovery - startup repair does not work, system restore does not work, and image recovery does not work. Next I tried a system diagnostic by pressing F12 immidiatly upon start-up. When I do this, the pre-boot system assesment tells me that there is no "diagnostic utility partition found" and that I need to use a "drivers and utilitys" disk to run the diagnostic.
So, now that you have the history, here's the problem: I don't have the Drivers and Utilities disk, and I'm currently out of the U.S., so I have no way of getting to it. I have tried downloading the diagnostic driver from http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/04?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&~ck=mn to a CD, then trying to run the diagnostic off of that CD, but my computer is having none of it..
So, I guess what I need is a full "drivers and utilities CD" like the green one from the factory. Is there a place I can download the whole shebang, instead of just little peices and parts? If not, how do I get all those peices and parts onto one CD in the correct format so that my computer will recognise and reboot off of it?
By the way, if you guys know of a better way to do this, please let me know.
Thanks!

Dell Diagnostics utility can normally be downloaded from Dell's support webpage - it's an exe-file that can create either a bootable CD or a bootable USBstick.I wanted to give you the link for your system but the "drivers and download page" is currently is currently not accessible.

Note:
It is likely that your HDD is in trouble-if Dell Diagnostics confirms that ,you need to get a new one.For the time being you could try booting from a bootable LinuxMint USBstick(1GByte at least 4GByte is better) - if you are lucky enough Linux might be able to detect your wireless card ,audio etc and you can work right away with your laptop-just an idea....LinuxMint comes preinstalled with tons of software and is similar to WinXP
