First, be prepared for only partial functionality - there likely will be hardware for which XP drivers do not exist. You'll need to make a list of the hardware for which you need drivers - and then visit Intel, Broadcom, ATI, etc.
There will not be a set of Dell notebook system drivers, nor quickset - so any special function buttons will not work, and it is possible you may be left with only very rudimentary power management.
If you MUST run XP, consider upgrading to a version of Windows 7 that has support for XP mode (i.e., Pro, Ultimate or Enterprise).
