Need help with UPEK USB Fingerprint Reader
I have an Inspiron 6000 Dell Laptop. I was shopping online to give suggestions to friends for a gift, and found this fingerprint reader, that appears to be a dell brand. I found a driver for it on the UPEK website, so it is now recognized by the computer. However, the Embassy Security Center software it needs isn't available for my laptop when I go into the downloads section on support.dell.com (where I am told it's supposed to be). The item did not come with a CD either, thus referring me to the website. I'm usually self sufficient in finding things, but am at a loss now.
I cannot find any software that will allow me to set up the fingerprint reader. I even went to download.com and looked around tried something, and couldn't even get it to recognize that the reader was attached.
Does anyone have a solution? I'd really like to be able to use this reader.

;^) I found one of those, (or one very similar) in my local charity thrift store. After oodles of searching the Internet, I found references to the software that I use, though I didn't save the URL's for both. Sorry.
:^/ Dell hosts the driver file R160713.EXE and you can run an Internet search for PSQL582Build4489.zip, which is Protector Suite v5.8.0. I believe I got it from the UPEK site, but it may also be hosted elsewhere. Good luck....
