New Inspiron 1011 Mini 10 - memory upgrade
I apologize if this has already been brought up, but I've searched in here and also on the web and all I am finding is old and confusing information.
I am trying to confirm if the Mini 10 (NOT the Mini 10v) is able to be upgraded to 2 GB Ram? I JUST ordered and received a brand new Mini 10 for Christmas, running Win 7 Home Edition. From the info I was able to find, it seems that the RAM is fixed in this model and cannot be upgraded. But when I try to look on the Dell website at the specs, it says that it is available with 2 GB. I custom ordered this laptop and I don't remember being given the option to upgrade the memory the way that I upgraded the battery, wireless card, etc.
I tried using the "Computer Memory Selector" on the Dell site and it wasn't able to locate my service tag, and did not have either Inspiron 1011 OR Mini 10 listed as a product.
Can ANYONE confirm the truth on this model? Thanks in advance for any assistance!
Jennifer

The 1011 is has a single replaceable module. The 1010 does not.

ok thanks! Do you have any other info on it? Should I buy the RAM from Dell? I have never taken a laptop apart before, and I've seen tutorials online, do you think there might be one?
thanks for your help!
