I doubt the D600 will ever get a new/better video card than the ATI 9000. The newer video chips use a lot more power and put out a lot more heat. Dell has recently released BIOSs for the 600M and the D600 that limit the overall speed of the unit if the memeory or other components get to hot instead of fixing the heat problems or adding additional cooling. There is only so mouch you can stuff into a notebook case. If you really want a desktop in a semi notebook case then look at the iXPS and the i9100.

Interesting but there are models out there like Compaq's NC6000 that use a Radeon 96000 and they're thin and light. The new Radeon Mobility X600 chip is designed for lower heat and power consumption specifically for thin and light model laptops. A two spindle design that is over 1" thick should accomodate the latest hardware (Pentium 755, 15" display, DVDRW, 802.11g, etc). We'll see if Dell delivers.
