No Audio on Inspiron 15 when using an external display
I connected a VGA display to my Inspiron 15 through the HDMI port (using a VGA to HDMI adapter). This is great, except then I receive no audio.
I remove the connection to the HDMI port and audio returns,
Is there a way that I can connect an external display and have audio?

Hello. After you connect the external monitor, go to the Sound properties (Control Panel>Sound). On the Playback tab, right click on "Speakers" and make that the default device. Then audio will come out through the laptop's speakers again.
If either "Digital Output" or "HDMI Audio" is the default device then you will not hear any audio.

Hi kevinmci,
VGA port only transfers video signals to the HDMI adapter. Is there any audio cable connecting to HDMI adapter so that the audio signal also gets transferred.

Now, my C-drive is cleaned ad i lost all my apps and some data.
Any way, thanks SIR.
