No audio on Dell Insprion 1545

Hi

Just installed a new drive on my Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop and went with XP Pro for my OS. Still have an explanation point on my “Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus”. I also get an error message every time shutting down about the IDT sys tray

Seems I may need  stacapi.dll

Any suggestions welcome and thanks in advance!

S,

“Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus” is the HDMI audio driver in the graphics card. You should be able to get rid of the ! by right clicking on it and updating by browsing to the HDMI subfolder of your video driver if you have Intel. Not sure of the process if you have ATI or nVidia.

I don't know why you get the stacapi.dll error. Have you tried re-downloading the audio driver? It might be corrupted.
