I am having this same problem. The battery is supposed to last up to 8 hours but even when it's fully charged, I only get 2-3 hours out of it, max. And I'm running it on a low-power scheme and making sure numerous programs aren't running.
Is there any help that Dell can offer us? Even if it's in the arena of battery optimization power schemes?
I just got my xps 15z today. After charging it to 100%, I pulled the plug, and the system tray icon immediately said 2:10 hours battery life. I was shocked. I'm on powersaver mode! Is this a defective battery? Even the engadget review reported 3.5hrs of battery life when running a video non-stop. This kind of discrepancy is really not acceptable.
Get rid of the laptop.. its not gona improve even if u replace the battery.... I am waiting for dell guys to say something or admit that the 8cell battery is a faluty one...
