First of all before you get into someplace that the average user should not be! Have you installed all of the drivers from dells site for your system aka lan drivers and wireless drivers chipset drivers?
have you installed thed drivers for the wireless card?Do you have the current updates installed for your operating system? is the wirless card turned on aka light?

It's highly unlikely the ones on the CD are up-to-date, so you should always check for/download the latest drivers available on the
Dell website, rather than use the ones supplied on the CD ;)
