Nvidia GTX 560m not recognized

I have an Alienware M17xR3 with GTX 560m.

Everything was working just fine until a few days ago when I got BSOD with power_drive_state_failure.
This message seem to be a known issue with Nvidia which relates to hibernation. Strange thing is that I got them at random times even when laptop did not go into hibernation or sleep.

Then all of a sudden during shutdown I briefly saw some Runtime error message box and after that windows does not see my video card anymore.

Even in the device manager, there is nothing. All devices are working fine and have their drivers.

When I go into the BIOS the discrete graphics has a value "None" which does not seem fine I guess....

Could my GPU be broken? All of a sudden? IS there something I can do to troubleshoot?

My laptop is almost 2.5 year old and I am using it 14+ hours a day. Could it be at the end of its live?

Thanks for the tip but unfortunately that didn't help.

So my card is ready for the scrapheap... And so my laptop I gues...

Before going further, unplug the system, remove the battery and hold the power button for 30 sec.  Disconnect (remove) and reconnect (reinstall) the video card.  If that doesn't get it recognized, it has failed.
