Nvidia settings have disappeared and i cant output through HDMI - Alienware 17
Where do I start....
I have an Alienware 17 with the following
Discreet nvidia Geforce 860M
Integrated Intel Graphics 4600
I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 last year but my machine recently crashed for what seemed no reason but when it came back to life there was something going on about video upgrades, not quite sure what it was but my nvidia card completely disappeared. Since this happened I no longer have any settings in the nvidia control panel, they are now all in the Intel video control panel, this never used to be the case.
I tried reinstalling the nvidia drivers but I was getting an error saying that no compatible hardware could be found. I also have Geforce Experience but that wouldnt start because of the same error. I rolled back the BIOS from A14 to A13 and my nvidia card became available again but still no settings in the nvidia control panel. I have now upgraded to A14 again and the card is still there but no changes to the nvidia control panel.
If I download the nvidia driver from their website and run it I still get an error saying that theres no compatible hardware but if I run the driver update through Geforce experience it works ok. Im now running their most recent driver 361.75.
I also cant output from my HDMI to my Samsung tv. When I plug in the hdmi my laptop is detecting it but theres nothing being output to the tv.
I have read a number of forums, ive tried to reinstall the driver with a clean install but I cant run the driver because of the error.
Im convinced this has something to do with the Windows 10 upgrade and compatibility with nvidia drivers.
Can anyone help?

Interesting it would not install directly. I have done three oldies and have Win 7/8 drivers working in Win 10.
You might want to try installing in Compatibility Mode. Right click on the installation program and initially select Run Compatibility Troubleshooter. If this doesn't help, select to run in Win 8 compatibility mode and select Run as Administrator.
The Alien 17 has an input/output HDMI port. I'm not familiar with these, but is there a possible software switch to switch the modes? Oops, I found that F9 switches input/output. Also, F1 selects the external monitor.

No joy im afraid, still getting error (screenshot attached).
With the HDMI my laptop is actually detecting the tv but theres just nothing coming through to the tv. Im thinking the two are related.
