O2Micro USB CCID SmartCard Controller/reader Latitude D820

hello community,

furtunatally i have found some software that should work with the o2micro smart card reader in my latitude d820. (for reading german health insurance cards or home banking hbci cards etc.) Installing driver and software is no problem and seems to work fine, the software lists the card reader and shows the specifications and so on. but when i push in a smart card, nothing happens. the software shows: NO CARD INSERTED

Does anybody know how i can check if the smart card reader is working correctly and if it can recognoze cards. the dell diagnostics soft shows the card reader is OK, but this test do also not check if cards are pushed in or not.
