Optimize Drive program says my Hard Drive is a Solid State drive now and Optimization not available?
Optimize Drive program says my Hard Drive is a Solid State drive now and Optimization not available? I think this happened when I upgraded to windows 10. I was and still having issues staying connected to the internet. It works and then it says limited or no connection. I go into the change adapters and it will say WIFI disabled. when I try to enable it, it will say that it has been enabled but it really hasn't. I restart the Computer and the WIFI will be working again. I also ran some codes in the command prompt to fix this and maybe one of those changed my Defag program. Is there a way to change the media from SSD to HDD in my optimized drive program. My laptop is a Dell Inpiron 15z 5523. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks ericlh68

My 15z also had this problem. I initially suspected Windows 10, but after restoring to an early restore point and reinstalling recent Windows and DELL driver updates, I was able to identify the cause. It turned out to be a SATA hard drive update on DELL's support site described as "Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver", file name: "Serial-ATA_Driver_V0P1G_WN32_14.5.0.1081_A00.EXE". I have told DELL about this driver, but it remains on the support site as a recommended update.
