My 15z also had this problem. I initially suspected Windows 10, but after restoring to an early restore point and reinstalling recent Windows and DELL driver updates, I was able to identify the cause. It turned out to be a SATA hard drive update on DELL's support site described as "Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver", file name: "Serial-ATA_Driver_V0P1G_WN32_14.5.0.1081_A00.EXE". I have told DELL about this driver, but it remains on the support site as a recommended update.
