PSA Diagnostics tool

Hi,

Dell offers several diagnostic tools.

See following link:              http://www.dell.com/support/Article/us/en/19/266616/EN

I have some questions regarding the Dell Pre-Boot System Assessment (PSA).

PSA is a diagnostic tool that is built in to your computer and is accessed before the operating system loads.

Question 1:

Will the PSA tool be available/ or deleted after a clean Win 10 install (assuming the Dell Partition will be deleted)?

Question 2:

If the PSA will be deleted, is there a reinstallation possibility?  If yes, how?

Hello 15R SE 7520

Good day.

Nice to hear from you.

There are two tests on a typical Dell system,

PSA and 32 bit Diagnostics

PSA is on motherboard RAM, 32-bit which is tests all components thoroughly is on Harddrive.

Doing a clean installation will definitely wipe out the diagnostic partitions. Sometimes few customers while installing they don't touch the partitions while allocating the drive space for OS, in-spite of that the 32-bit diagnostics dont work.

The only other way to run a thorough diagnostics is via the online hardware diagnostics tool from support site. which is as good as a 32-bit.

Regards

Hi Dell-Hema,

Thank you very much with regard your answering.

However I got 1 extra question to be sure:

You mentioned PSA is installed on motherboard RAM. Does this mean it will not be deleted on clean install?

Background information:

The PSA on start (tap F12) is useful when Windows does not start at all
