Please help I'm having few problems with Dell xps 17 l702x?

Hello I need some help please with my dell l702x

1.) I can hear static noise like every time and sometimes it would randomly  make  pop sounds when I'm watching movies or if there is no sound playing through the laptop. I've tried adjusting volume and muting but it seems to be there. I'm not sure if is the Wireless NIC or something but I have the latest up-to-date driver

2.) The screen random flashes as if someone was taking a picture using a camera, I noticed it happens during when charger is plugged in.http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/f/3519/t/19485735.aspx- Think this is similar

3.)Recent problem the left click button touchpad doesn't respond when I'm trying to pause a youtube video (sometimes I have to click it about 2-3times) just to pause it. It only seems to happen to youtube but not sure yet.

4.) Is dell support center like a diagnostic check similar to going through bios?

I have checked to see if the  drivers is up to date and the only thing is the bios, I currently have A14 but there is a release of A19 and I'm not sure if this can fix those problems.

I have done a dell PC check using the Support center and everything passed

Hi James521,

Thanks for the detailed explanation. The pop up sound could be because of disabling and enabling of aero software due to third party application that may not be compatible with the aero software.

Please try updating the BIOS, touchpad and video driver by using the link below.

http://dell.to/Y4bsIZ        BIOS

Connect the Ac Adapter while updating the BIOS. Do not interrupt this process until the system restarts completely.

http://dell.to/PznzIw       Touchpad driver

http://dell.to/PhjrxA         Intel HD 3000 driver

http://dell.to/OQkeJW      Dell Nvidia driver

Please install the driver in the exact order. In case after updating the drivers if the problem persists, run the system hardware diagnostics.

Kindly run the custom test on touchpad (32 bit diagnostics). Use the link below to run the PSA hardware diagnostics.

To continue onto 32-bit Diagnostics, Press N for No when it asks you to Continue Memory Tests Press Y to continue the Memory Tests, You can refer to the link below.

HI Senthill S

I've updated my bios to A18 from A14  and I didn't update to A19 because it was similar to A18 except with Windows8 support which I'm not planning up upgrade.

I'm still getting the pop/click noise after the update and How would I disable/enable the aero software because when I'm watching movies it kind of annoys me.

Intel Driver: I'm not sure what files to click because when it extracts the folder there is a lot of files so I was wondering if you could provide me step by step on what to choose

Nvidia Driver: Similar to Intel drivers not sure what files to choose or click.

Extra Question: Is it bad if a laptop restarts for updating software or bios? I'm not a technical person but I would like to know.

I am also thinking of doing a clean install of windows 7 or  re-install Operating system using dell backup but before doing this I want to make sure do I need to know anything. I want to know if I would still be able to use the short cut buttons after doing clean install

I was wondering if anyone could help me I tried downloading Intel driver but there was a message"Not supported something" When I clicked on setup.exe.

I also want to try and remove the annoying random click/pop sound whenever I'm watching a movie. If a uninstall Realtek hd then re install the same version/from manufacturer website would this cause any problem from playing music/or using the shortcut key button above the keyboard
