Port Replicator, Dual Monitors, Video Resolution

Question

I just set up my 600m with a port replicator and 2-19' lcds.  It's great, except the highest resolution I can get is 1280 x 1024 on either of the external monitors.  I was able to get higher on one of the monitors when connected to my desktop.  And my laptop gets 1480 x 1050 (sxga).   Is there a way to get higher res on the external dual monitors?   Thanks.

How do you set this up?  I have a 600m with a Port Replicator.  I've been told that I need a DVI to VGA adapter, but the adapter I bought has 4 small pins surrounding the flat pin, but the port replicator's female DVI port does not have 4 small holes around the flat hole.

One of my monitors has a DVI connector, so I haven't had to use an adapter.  The other monitor is VGA.  Not sure what adapter you're trying to use, but I'm afraid I can't really help.

what does this do for you? get you better resolution? have either of you upgraded your video cards?

i have an 8500 docked to a advanced port relicator and i can only get video out from the vga connector. dose your apr support dvi video. i can find no one at dell that can ancessor my question.   i have a dvi to lcd cable and i have tested it.   maybe the video card in my 8500 dose not support dvi video (nvidia geforce4 4200)   can some one help me out   thanks
