Port Replicator Model PRX, Part Number 7345U Rev. A00

I would like to know what laptops can be used with this Port Replicator Model PRX, Part Number 7345U Rev. A00.  I have one currently and am interested in purchasing a new computer to fit it.

Hi, It might be for the  Inspiron 3700/3800/4000/4100/8000/8100/8200 - but I'm not 100% sure.

I have the 8200 and amd looking to buy the port replicator and came across 7345U from one of my sources - but it is not confirmed yet.  Are you also thinking about selling it?

Any guidance would be appreciated, as I can't find my original resource Cd.

I just bought the port replicator but do not have the drivers for it.  Where on the resource CD did you find them?

I have the port replicator 7345U PRX, in fact I have two.  I use an 8200 running windows XP Pro.  I do not know how to make the audio out or headphone jack on the richt side of the replicators function.  I can only get sound from the headphone output on the side of the computer.  Does anyone know how to make this work?

Thanks

Rich

Any luck?  I'm having the same problem and I've searched everywhere.  I can't make the ethernet port on this thing work without a driver and it won't work with any default drivers in XP.

I ended up not needing any drivers to use the advanced port replicator with my Inspiron 8200.  When I finally got one that worked I just had to plug it in and everything worked for me.  Hope this helps.

I appreciate the reply, but if everything had worked after I plugged it all in, I wouldn't be wasting my time trolling this forum.  I can plug the PC into the replicator and a lot of the stuff works, but the ethernet port doesn't work and makes the "found hardware" wizard come up every time I boot while docked.  I cannot find a driver to resolve the problem, and I've been looking on both the Dell and 3Com sites.

All,

There are no Port Replicator drivers for Windows 2000 or XP, because none are needed.  All the drivers are in Windows.  There is an Quick Install file for earlier versions of Windows.

The C/Dock II, C/Port II and Inspiron APR employ a 3COM 3C920 integrated NIC. This integrated device is the counterpart to the desktop 3C905c chip.  You should be able to choose this from a list of the drivers provided with Windows.
