Power requirements for E-port Plus Port Replicator & Precision M6500
I have a Dell Outlet Precision M6500 with 16 gig of Ram and QM940 processor and RGBLED screen. One SSD drive, one standard hard drive.
When the machine is docked, the 240 watt power supply is plugged into the docking station. A DVI cable is plugged into the back of the docking station, an external ESATA blu-ray drive is plugged into the machine's eSATA/USB port.
There is a system tray icon indicating that the laptop IS plugged in, NOT charging. Battery is at 93%, doesn't go down, but doesn't go up either.
Is the M6500 drawing so much power that even a 240 watt power supply through the docking station is inadequate to charge it?
