Precision 7710: support for 2400MHz ECC memory

I decided to upgrade my Dell Precision 7710 (service tag: ) from non-ECC memory to ECC memory. The laptop was originally configured with 8Gb of non-ECC RAM (2x4GB 2133MHz Hynix p/n HMA451S6AFR8N-TF). After replacing the original memory with ECC(2x16GB 2400MHz Crucial CT16G4TFD824A.18FA1 p/n 18ASF2G72HZ-2G3A1 ) the laptop does not boot. Status LED blinks 2 times amber and 5 times white. The cycle repeats few times and the computer powers off.

I'm using only primary memory banks (both of them are working fine with original sticks) and the newest available BIOS – 1.9.5 .

I've tested several configurations and the only one that works is mixing an old 2133MHz non-ECC stick with a new 2400Mhz ECC stick. This suggests that BIOS is not able to handle scenario when only 2400MHz memory is installed.

Are there any chances that this will be fixed by BIOS update?
