Hi - Did you manage to solve your M6500 display problem? If not, a good source of in-depth info on the M6500 is the New M6500 Discussion Thread on NotebookReview.com.

Meanwhile, you probably didn't see my question to this Dell Community forum yesterday, but I wonder if  you could help me by examining the front left corner of the lid on your M6500 and checking to see if it closes snugly onto the base assembly of the laptop. Mine doesn't - the little piece of rubber inset into the base that cushions the lid doesn't make contact with the lid when shut - the entire left side of the base unit is slightly warped! I'm wondering if all M6500s are built like this, or whether I'm just unlucky.

With thanks for your help,

Alex Landau

Hey guys,

I tried to change the gamma from 2.2 to 1.8, but I can`t find a way to do it. Also I don´t have a color calibration unit, like the spyder.

Is there a way to change the gamma settings, or correct the heavy brightness with tools, software or maybe with other downloadable colorprofiles? I`m not an expert in such things.

Did anybody found a way to solve this problem?

Thanks

Mate

You're not alone.  Very annoying to have these prestige machines troubled by such a pathetic cosmetic problem.    Not to mention the lumpy keyboard that leaves keymarks on the screen as well.   I expected far more "precision" in the manufacturing for such an expensive item.
