Problem with CPU load when laptop is charging
Hello, i recently bought Dell Inspiron N7110 with B940 cpu, GT525M graphic, 4GB of RAM...
Problem is CPU load when laptop is charging:
When I play some game it doesn't go fluent but when i disconnect charger the game is going very well.
Also when i watch clip on Youtube, when laptop is on charger CPU goes between 80-100%(and stuck a little bit) but when i disconnect it from charger CPU goes down( between 40 - 70%).
No matter which Power plan i choosed- its always the same.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Battery test showed that battery is fine.
Just to make my self clear: computer runs slower only in case when battery and charger are both connected!
When computer works only on battery or only on charger ( battery removed) - everything is fine.
Thanks for your advice but didn't worked for me!

Hello Dvla,
I would request you to update the BIOS to the latest version (A13) and check if the issue persists.
**NOTE: Few things to ensure before updating the Bios is, the Ac Adapter should be plugged in and the battery should have minimum of 15% charge. No other external peripherals should be connected to the computer. Please ensure that the Bios update should not be interrupted else it would damage the motherboard.
Hope this helps!

Hello Dvla,
I would request you to check if the issue persists in Safe Mode with Networking. In order to boot into Safe Mode with Networking, please restart the computer and keep tapping F8. From the Advanced Boot Options, select Safe Mode with Networking and press Enter. Check if the computer is running slow.
I would also like to know if the laptop overheats. If yes, please try the suggestions mentioned in the article on Dell Laptop is overheating.
Please write back with your findings.

Hello Allan,
Did several tests in Safe mode:
- Played some youtube video ( 720p) on battery (charger removed) CPU goes up to 25%. Plugged charger during same video - CPU immediately jump to 80% and continue to work around that value!!
- Next situation: I removed battery from laptop, plugged the charger, same video clip: CPU value is good (around 25%) and everything works just fine!?
Any sugestion?
(English is not my native language..)
Thanks !

Hello Dvla,
It seems to be an issue with the motherboard. Please consider replacing it. Does the computer have an active warranty? You can check the warranty status here (Enter the service tag, click submit and check for the warranty status). In case of expired warranty scenario, we would not be able to extend warranty entitled services. If the warranty on the computer has expired, you may contact our Expired Warranty Services (this is for US based customers).

Hello Alan,
Is there any other option to fix the problem before i take my laptop to service? Could it be something else but motherboard? Some bad driver or some software problem?
Thanks Alan!
