Problem with synaptic touchpad Dell Inspiron 15

I have upgraded to the latest Synaptic Touchpad driver from the Dell site but I still seem to have an issue with my touchpad. I have a Dell Inspiron 15 and I disable the touchpad since I'm using a mouse instead in the Control Panel>Mouse area, but if I touch the touch pad several times it re-enables itself on its own. how do I make it stop re-enabling itself??
