Problems with Wifi Switch and Fingerprint Readers

Hello,

The fingerprint reader and the wifi switch do not work on my XPS m1530. The Wifi switch does not disable anything even after checking the BIOS option and Dell Quickset Drivers. Also, the fingerprint is not detected by Windows. Even after reinstalling the drivers, I still get a message telling me to connect the fingerprint reader when I login. I tried to check the device manager but I don't have any 'biometrics' category or any unknown devices. I have a feeling that the cable for the fingerprint reader and wifi switch were not connected. Is there any way for me to check and will my warranty be void if I check myself ?

Thanks

Your warranty should be safe if you are only popping the case open to check the connections.  It does sound like they weren't hooked up properly, since the drivers are explicitly telling you that the reader isn't connected.
