Problems with new XPS15 (P31F) build quality?
Has anyone else noticed that the palm rests on the new XPS 15 (mine is a p31f) are very flimsy? If I gently lean on my palm rest it makes the touchpad click stick. When holding the laptop by the front edge then sometimes the touch pad clicks from underneath! I definitely would expect better from such an otherwise awesome laptop!

I phoned up and had an engineer at my house to replace the mousepad on new years eve.
Very happy with the customer service :emotion-2:!

I discovered this today after using the laptop... on my lap.
It works fine on a flat surface, but stick with the slightest bit of skew on the laptop chassis.
As you say, not expected from a extremely pricey laptop. I wonder if Dell will recall them or offer a solution?

I have exactly the same problem with the same P31F model. Unless I'm setting it onto a flat surface, the touchpad is unusable. This is an *EXTREMELY* flimsy laptop. If you pick it up with one hand from one side while it's open the whole base bends significantly. I don't see how this could be milled out of a solid block of aluminum. The base is hardly aluminium. I only see a thin aluminum bezel. Only the screen is relatively solid given how thin it is.
I was considering the purchase of a new XPS 15 for my son, but given that chassis is identical to the M3800, I am very reluctant. Looking at an HP Omen instead.
