***Processor Start Failure***
Hi,
I am getting the message
" ***Processor Start Failure*** The revision of motherboard does not support the processor installed. "
when I boot my I4000.
History: This machine had coffee spilled on it. So I replaced the motherboard with a Latitude C600 mobo. (I was told they are the same). So it is technically a C600 in an I4000 case now
I have a P-III 800 (micro-pga2). I think I read somewhere that only the I400 can run The 800 mhz? Is there any truth to this?
Does anyone have any ideas? Should I change processors? Should I flash the bios (its currently C600)?

Any idea on the key combination?
Info: Have replaced a damaged C600 board with a new one using the same processor.

I have tried to upgrade 6x Dell Latitude C600 (same mobo as I4000) notebooks today. There are two different hardware revisions: A07 and A08. I can't get an SL5* processor faster than 750Mhz to work in any of them.....but one!!! It's an A07 hardware revision, and the difference is that the screen printing on the mainboard is YELLOW rather than white. In the centre of the mainboard it has a marking like two chain links crossed and some numbers. The white boards are marked NM4, the Yellow board in NM5. Both have 94V-0 underneath this. The Mainboards look identical other than this feature. I have successfully put a SL5* 1GHz CPU in "NM5" mainboard. BIOS is A23 for C600.
The alternative to find an SL4* CPU rather than SL5*???
