Query about Finding Information on Unofficial Drivers

Hi,

I was looking for some unofficially supported drivers for my old inspiron laptops, I have searched the Dell Community Support Forums and found this webpage
and then bookmarked it. (I use Internet Explorer 10 in Windows 8)

But a few days later, when I tried to view this page again, the link directly brings me to a Sign-in page for Dell My Account.  I couldn’t view this page without Logging-in now!  I registered, and signed in, then the page displays as

Not Found: Resource Not Found
The resource you requested does not exist.

I've done some research on it, and found the webpage’s upper-level page:

Unofficial Windows 7 Drivers For Unsupported but Capable Systems - Direct Links

For this Direct Links collection page, the link for “ Inspiron Laptops” (The link I bookmarked and needed) gives “Resource Not Found”, so does the link “ Inspiron Desktops”.  But all the rest of the links work, and do not require to sign in.  Why is this?

Please give some help.  Thanks.

Regards,
Vegebird

The link is to a Wiki.  And Dell routinely changes things.

There is no one size fits all for all os 32 and 64 bit.

If you have a Specific Model there is always more information.

If windows 7 drivers are not available use VISTA Drivers instead.

For Example:

Description Importance Version Released Supported OS Download
Realtek ALC888 HD Audio, v.5.10.0.5548, A00
Realtek ALC888 HD Audio driver
Urgent 5.10.0.5548 7/29/2008 Windows XP
Windows Vista 32-bit
Windows Vista 64-bit

Select your Inspiron

Hi Vegebird,

I regret for the inconvenience.

The content was removed from the website.

I can help you with the correct drivers on the computer. Kindly let me know the Operating system and system model so that I can help you find the correct drivers.

Or else youi can private message me the service tag of the computer so that I can find out the driver.

To private message the service tag click my User name and click Start conversation.

Awaiting your response!
