RAM Upgrade - Dell Studio 1435

I have two Dell laptops; a Dell Vostro 3550 64-bit and a Dell Studio 1435 32-bit.

I've previously upgraded the RAM in my Vostro and from that upgrade, I now have a spare 2GB RAM (pictured below)

My query:

I am wondering if this 2GB RAM will be able to fit into my Dell Studio 1435 because I am thinking of adding this 2GB RAM to the existing 3GB RAM in the Dell Studio 1435.

1. Are all RAMs used by Dell laptops of uniform size?

2. Is there another slot in the Studio 1435 to accommodate this 2GB RAM (the Vostro has two RAM slots)?

Thank you.

YanAndrew,

Unfortunately, the 2 systems use different memory and cannot be interchanged.

Below are the memory specs for the Studio 1435 laptop and the Vostro 3550.

Vostro 3550

Type DDR3 - 1333MHz
Memory speed 1066MHz/1333MHz
Memory connectors 2 DIMM slots
Memory modules supported 2GB, 3GB, 4GB, 6GB and 8GB
Minimum memory 2GB
Maximum memory

up to 8GB supported

Studio 1435

Memory module connector

Two user-accessible SODIMM connectors
Memory module capacities 512 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB, 4GB
Memory type 800 MHz SODIMM DDR2
Minimum memory 512 MB (single channel)
Maximum memory 8 GB (dual channel 4G x2 for 64-bit)
4 GB (dual channel 2G x2 for 32-bit)
A NOTE indicates important information that helps you make better use of your computer. NOTE:

In order to take advantage of the dual channel bandwidth capability, both memory slots must be populated and must match in size.

The available memory displayed does not reflect the complete maximum memory installed because some memory is reserved for system files.
