RAM memory for Inspiron 600m question

I want to know what type of RAM memory (DDR, SDRAM, etc) can my laptop support? And what chip (DDR-200, DDR-266, etc) can it support? Mine is an Inspiron 600m with Windows XP SP2 in it. It currently holds a 256 RAM which I don't know what the type is. Please help. Thanks!

Hi there, you can find out what memory you have in your laptop by downloading and running this application: http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php (click on the memory tab). According to Crucial.com, one of the world's leading manufacturers (division of Micron who make a large amount of memory)  your system can take up to 2gb (2048mb) or ram across 2 DDR slots. (so a max of 2x1gb sticks). DDR-2100 should work but ideally DDR-2700. (otherwise known as PC-200 and PC-266)
