Random windows "Always on top"
Every once in a while, one of my windows switches to "Always on top" mode. There's no rhyme or reason to this; I can't think of any mouse or keyboard sequence that does it as it appears completely randomly. It's naturally quite annoying as the only way around it is to close down the offending window.
This has been happening since I got the laptop a couple months ago. It's a Dell M6600 running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
I have an nVidia card but nView is disabled, so I know that's not the culprit. I suspect that monitor switch icon that shows up to the left of the minimize button might have something to do with it, but I can't figure out how to remove that thing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's because of Premiere Color. Probably or accidentally you sent a windows on 'Always on top'. By clicking on its icon the a menuitem ...
Happend to me also with Firefox, which was on top always (even after closing the application).
But the rename DP.bak trick does work finally.

You can not rename the DP folder, while the software is running!
Try clicking with right button on the square transparent icon. This fails sometimes displaying the display lay-out. You need to try it, until you see the MENU, there's an option to EXIT the application. Then you can rename the DP folder to DP.bak.
This program frustrated me a long time. Totally by accident I found out the process name DP_MenuBar_Window, came on this page and killed the process definitely.
When I bought my Dell machine there was no info about the working of this program. Or how to use it. It's icon was completely a mystery and on a strange place. First I thought it was a virus or a malicious program. My opinion, a bad piece of software.

It's a Dell M6600 running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. some times IE or Mozilla, or Other Company CAE softwares, and also when this happens, it stucks all pulldown menus. Currently, losing reopening the software only solution I have. Any solutions for this issue is greatly apriciated.

Workaround time!
I too have premier color on an M6600 with 64-bit win7 with Nview running.
And I have the random AlwaysOnTop issue.
I discovered that one can rightclick on the header of the offending window to see a dropdown of options.
At the bottom of the list is "NviewOptions".
When I hover on this entry I get a secondary dropdown with a check showing against "Always on top".
Clicking on the "Always On Top" entry toggles this setting off for the offending window.
Then I can then proceede with normal switching to other windows.
