Oh dear Natakuc4 :emotion-3:

Started the Waves MaxxAudio via quickset panel and got the quickset headed message "please install the audio driver before......Why the newly installed driver isn't recognised I don't know.

So not quite sure what to do now. Thanks for your help though

Thank you Natakuc4,

Downloading as we speak.! For some reason I just could not access "My Downloads" or the Downloads Page. This morning followed your link and it all worked wonderfully. Now all I have to do is reinstall. I will let you know!

Wow, that is a fantastic resource. Will take some tim to tick all the boxes though! In the meantime the new battery arrived. Not original Dell as ordered but have chased the supplier who wanrrants it is 100% compatible. I have told him it is not good enough etc etc and we will see what transpires.

But, as I mentioned the Quickset error message "Your power adaptor........."  Well that has stopped, the battery has charged from 29% to fully charged BUT I have no indicator lights on the pc behind the laptop cover, quickset reports that the battery is not charging YET Bios recognises a 130W adaptor.

So, is i possible that that the Quickset software is just plain corrupted. No Realtek audio for Waves Maxx - system checl says all is ok, HDMI audio is ok, Dell MY PC software check says all is ok. I have no triangles on any drivers - the audio driver is identifies and is working ok. How do I check the quickset setup? I have uninstalled the OEM version and installed the "latest" quickset from Dell.

If the charger works and the audio is ok in spite of what quickset says I suppose I can live with it. But really I (and hundreds like me in all sorts of different Dell Areas) should not have to be forced to.

Thanks though NATAKUC4

Sounds like you have solved some but not all of the issues. Quickset is usually good to have around for multimedia buttons.

From this thread it seems like it is maybe an issue with the latest Quickset and Audio Drivers. One user mentioned a clean install fixed their problem. Clean installation usually fixes all the issues that Dell factory settings typically have due to a poorly configured Windows. The other mentioned fix is that rolling back to previous versions fixed the problems:
