Reformatting computer, DVD drive + Stuff not working properly.

Question

I reformatted my computer (with a friend) and the computer works fine (I think) ..but it's missing some stuff... for instance I can't have it 'Stand By' anymore.. That option is not available in the Power Option Properties, I can't play my CDs (DVD is good) .. and also when I tried to Instal some of the softwares (such as Microsoft XP Plus) it said that I would not be able to install some of the screen savers (and other stuff) because my video doesn't hold enough memory. Can someone show me how to Reformat? Thanks,

Did you reinstall the drivers for all of your hardware?

To get all of your hardware working again, get out your "Drivers and Utilities" CD. Install everything that you have a check mark next to on the program that comes up.

..no. I did not reinstall everything. Should I re-reboot the computer? or

just reinstall the stuff that I didn't?

But can you show me how to reformat again? ..

Like where can I find the instruction..

on how to reboot my computer...the website above was really confusing and the steps were not at all specific.

Okay, I finally got around to finishing reformatting my computer! Question: How come my fonts +everything else (webpage) is shrink to 1/2 the normal size? How do I change that? I practically have to squint to read my mails.   I tried changing the fonts of desktop to Xtra large, but I dont think that's it. The webpage is still small. Changing the resolution didn't help either.   Help. This is so annoying!   And also, the little button that when pressed put your computer to Standby mode (next to the power buttom) doesn't work properly ... I pressed on it and it STand by for 1 sec then it go back to normal state.... Something in the reformatting that I didn't do????
