Replacing Blu Ray drive with HDD

Hello, I own an Alienware M14x and am thinking I'd like to replace the existing blu-ray drive with an additional hard disk drive.

I've had the bottom cover off and it appears that the blu-ray can come out but I need to know where to connect the SATA cable from the motherboard and I will probably need a carriage tray to hold the drive. Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you.

It would have to plug into a connector on the bay adapter.

Just disconnect the optical drive - the bay adapter will plug into its place.

You'll need something like the device linked below - that said, be sure you realize the drive can only be used for storage -- it cannot be used as a boot device.

Thanks for the information about the carriage tray--very helpful.

Once I remove the blu-ray drive, I am unable to find where to connect the SATA cable to the motherboard that will connect to the additional drive?

Any ideas?
