Rotated Display 90 Degrees Clockwise
After reviewing several posts that may be touching on my issue that I was facing in the past few months, I had no luck in coming across a posting similar to mine.
It all started after the Notebook (Inspiron 5160) running under Win XP Pro, SP2 with a XGI Volari-XP5 Ver 2.097.Dell. Screen Resolution is set @1024x768, Color Quality, 32 Bit (Highest). System with no further indications flipped the display 90 degrees to the right. Hence, the Start button that is normally located at the lower left hand side of the screen moved to the upper left hand side, and System Tray Clock took the Start button’s location, i.e. lower left hand side.
System was locked, unable to use any key, or shutdown, except by holding the Power Button for a few seconds. After starting, the display changed to 800x600 pixels, as if it went to a safe Mode resolution in normal display format. Shutting the system normally would revert everything back to normal after changing manually the resolution to 1024x768.
I have reinstalled Windows twice, keeping in the last fresh install nothing as additional application was installed but Norton System Works.
In case anyone has any tips to why this is happening, what are the reasons for having such a symptom, how to resolve this conflict.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Regards,
George
